| AkaaaaaaaaaaaaL!
I haven't updated this thing in about...well a long time.
The fact of the matter is, India was the damn bomb.
More updates later....

| Hear that? That's the sound of history repeating itself.
The situation in Panjab has gotten worse. With SAD, SGPC, and the Akal
Takht not doing anything, it's at the hands of the local people to
defend themselves, their families, and their faith.
I'm going to India in three weeks; by then things will either have
calmed down or we'll be at full war. There's a bet going on between the
kids on whether I get involved or not.
What do you think?

| Why do I get into debates...i'm not a sweet talker!
Question: Does Punjabi Culture/Sikh Religion suit men more than women?
My Answer: Culturally - yes
Religiously - hell no
Response:
Tanu, if it was no so, sikh women did not have to fight for their
rights in Darbar Sahib, being part of Panj Piyare etc. etc. Even
'religion' wise men get all the attention; also it is damn easy for a
man to afford Sikh woman as she is easy-maintainance - simple living
(no expenses on fashion suits, jewellary, hair or eating out)
My Response: PEOPLE Do not define a religion.
JUST BECAUSE THE JATHEDARS HAVE FORGOTTEN THE WAY OF Guru Nanak Patshah, doesn't mean Sikhi has changed.
People were, wre, and will forever be stupid. But the religiousity of
the Nanaks have not chnged. They have defined a distinct equality of
the genders, and it doesn't matter what people do, that will never
change.
And plus - OMG so we have to fight for our right to do seva at
Darbar sahib - so what? Guru Hargobind Patshah had to fight for his
right to coexist with the Mughals...Guru Nanak Sahib had to fight for
his freedom of thought....Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib had to fight for his
overwhelming belief in humanity...
Why do we cringe so much at the thought of doing actual work? The
cry of sovereignty is engrained into our souls, yet we complain about
doing any work. Holy hell man, you're not going to break a nail, get
off your ass and work for it!
And before I end this nonsense..it is definitely not easier to
afford a sikh woman (and is all of this about affording..we're not
sitting on his shoulders, it's equal responsibility) we may not buy
jewelery or crap like that, but we spend a hell of a lot of money on
books and shastars, so it's the same thing!
AND BY THE WAY - if you have such a problem with people these days
favoring Sikh men (i.e. granthis all being guys) then go become a
granthi and change it!
When I first starting coming to Park Ave gurduara I was never taken
seriously, because I wore jeans and didn't really care much to be taken
seriously. But when I decided that I want a fair say in what's
happening, I made sure I got it. If the Bhai Sahibs show up at 230 in
the morning for Prakash in full bana, then I show up at 230 in the
mornig for Prakash in full bana. Whatever they do, I do too, and now
every single granthi, giani ji, visiting jatha, kthavachak, etc. treats
me as an equal, because I treat myself as an equal.
If you want things to change...change them. But don't complain unless you're making a positve effort to fix things. | | |
| Somebody called me a homophobic the other day, really randomly.
Really?
